Richard Wallis

Principal

I am beginning my third year serving as the Principal/Commandant at CMI.  Before coming to CMI I was an Assistant Principal at both a middle school and a K-12 school.  My teaching experience was as a Special Education teacher teaching in Special Day Class in the San Diego, Moreno Valley and Hemet areas.

I served in the US Marine Corps as a Drill Instructor and left the Marines as a Sergeant.  After the Marines I entered law enforcement and worked with the San Diego Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff's Department.  While a Deputy with the Sheriff's Department I attained the rank of Sergeant and served as an Investigator and member of the Emergency Services Team.  I retired from the Sheriff's Department and enjoyed working in the "corporate" world of insurance and finance before coming to education.  As the Commandant of CMI I have been appointed to the rank of Major in the California National Guard, Cadet Corps.

I live in Murrieta with my wife of nearly 40 years, Martha.  Our three children have left "the nest" and have blessed us with six grand-children.
